In 2021, Dr. Chukwumerije was appointed executive sponsor and national physician lead for equity, inclusion, and diversity across eight Permanente Medical Groups. Within that role, he is actively collaborating on the ongoing deployment of Belong@KP. At The Southeast Permanente Medical Group, one of the largest multi-specialty groups in Georgia, Dr. Chukwumerije spearheaded a campaign promoting respectful interaction by addressing subtle discrimination, and he implemented leader rounding at medical office buildings to encourage these principles among employees.
With more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience, Delvecchio joined Atrium Health Navicent in 2021. He started a supplier diversity program that achieved a 63% increase in local spending with firms owned by diverse individuals. Delvecchio also contributed to the development of the Advocate National Center for Health Equity. While serving as the American College of Healthcare Executives' Chair, he led a fundraising campaign for the Fund for Healthcare Leadership, which helps underrepresented individuals gain the education and experience they need to reach the C-Suite.
Lisa has led NAHSE since 2021. Through her leadership, NAHSE continues to uphold and support the advancement and development of Black healthcare leaders while also focusing on elevating the quality of healthcare services rendered to underrepresented individuals and underserved communities. Lisa also initiated ELEVATE, a program where senior executives mentor emerging leaders, of which half the inaugural group advanced within a year. In collaboration with Virginia Commonwealth University, Lisa started a webinar series for underrepresented professionals in the healthcare industry.
Adrianna advocates for increasing access to care for underserved populations and focuses on building the leadership capacity of Latino nurses who continue to be underrepresented in healthcare leadership. She is also a Research Scientist at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), leading the development of a social needs measure centered on social connection. During Nurses’ Appreciation Week in 2022, Adrianna represented NAHN at a White House roundtable discussion. She also attended the signing of an Executive Order to bolster access to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid.
Since joining CHRISTUS Health in 2015, Marcos has led the Equity of Care Committee, using health data to address service access barriers for underserved communities. As Chief Diversity Officer, he devised a five-year plan to improve care equity, broaden community benefits, and raise the number of racially diverse executives by 8% by 2025. Marcos also champions health equity as President of the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives and as a member of the American Hospital Association Population and Community Health Advisory Committee.
As a trusted talent advisor and human capital consultant, Deanna has championed the healthcare industry as a thought leader on diversity for more than 25 years. Her partnerships span the industry's leading hospital systems, academic medical centers, trade associations, and health insurance and managed government programs (Medicare and Medicaid), consulting with boards of directors and chief executive officers on executive recruitment and retention, succession planning, and organizational and leadership development. Deanna is a former PAN Foundation Board Chair as well as a former leadership advisory board member at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
